Let us start off by wishing you all a very happy 2019! By now you’ll all be fully recovered from the Christmas and New Year period (we hope), making this the perfect time to start thinking about your plans for the next 12 months. The start of a brand new year offers up a great opportunity to reflect, refresh and try to accomplish some of the things you may have missed or wish you’d achieved in 2018. Here are a few suggestions for lifestyle changes that ought to make 2019 the year you hit all of those fitness goals…

Cut The Junk Food

Right, we’re not going to waste your time lecturing you on the importance of a healthy balanced diet – you all know the score by now – but we will emphasize how much more effective your workout plan will be if you coordinate your regime with a complementary diet plan. Make this the year you really crack down on the junk food and those results will come thick and fast.

Try Something New

Variety is the spice of life after all. There’s so much on offer in the Big Smoke that you’ll never be short of new workouts to try – why not make the most of it?! Yet to take the plunge in Hampstead Ponds? Jump right in! Still not joined the local running club? Go go go! Haven’t tried that rooftop Pilates class yet? You get the picture…

Manage Your Motivation

It’s all well and good saying you’re going to be more motivated in 2019, but to ensure you really do make the desired changes you should attempt to get into the nitty gritty of what makes you tick. Find out the motivation methods that work for you and put them into action! If you need a little help along the way then check out our post from last year for a few tips.

Challenge Yourself

You know yourself better than anyone, and if you know you didn’t challenge yourself quite as much as you could have in 2018 then it’s time for change. Whether it’s applying for races that are slightly out of your comfort zone, trying some new, more advanced yoga positions, or just generally setting yourself more challenging targets – don’t go easy on yourself in 2019.

Take Your Workouts Outdoors

Yes, we may be a little biased, but moving our workouts outside was one of the best decisions we ever made, and we know you’re going to love it too. We could go on and on about the benefits of workouts in the great outdoors, and we did, in this little post from October of last year. See you out there, and as always, stay fit and healthy!
